Children & Youth

FLY

Faith Lutheran Youth (FLY) is for 6th-12th grade youth.  We meet several times a month for Bible study, games, service projects, movies, food and fun!  FLY also goes ice skating, to amusement parks in Ohio, holds Lock-ins, go to the movies and other special events throughout the year.

The Middle School youth also have Confirmation Classes every week during the academic year and a winter retreat in February with other local churches.

Every three years, the senior high youth participate in the ELCA National Youth Gathering.  The group is looking forward to New Orleans again in 2012!  The Sr. High also engages in a Sr. High service trip on the summers when a Youth Gathering is not held.  Visit the ELCA website to learn more.

January 8, 6-6:45 Youth Committee Light supper and planning in the Youth Room

 January 8, 6:45-8:15 FLY Night—Back to the Future—Look at where we’ve been and where we want to go this year.  Enjoy games, food, a lesson and fun!  Friends are welcome!

January 13-15   Sr. High Retreat at Aldersgate—“Heroes”   Cost is $70 per person.  Friends are welcome!  Registration forms were sent via email and in the youth FLYer

 January 22, 6-8:15 p.m. FLY Movie Night—“Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader “(3rd movie.)  Bring $3 to cover pizza supper.  Friends are welcome!

 January 29, 4:00-5:30 p.m. FLY Ice Skating at Triangle Park.  Cost is $10 for skating for 90 minutes and includes skate rental.  There are food vendors there but not sure of prices—so if you want  hot chocolate or munchies plan to bring another $5.  Meet at Triangle Park at the Ice skating rink.  Holly will be at the admissions place.  If it rains, we will reschedule.

Cool Club

COOL (Children Of Our Lord) Club, 3rd – 5th grades, meets once a month during the school year.  Holly Shipley leads the group at the church every other month for a Bible story, games, food, and fun.  On the opposite months, the children are led by parents to various activities in the city.
